Electrolysis process

A process where the electrical current forces a chemical reaction we call electrolysis. For exampel it is used for electrowinning of metals or for production of substances where their winning by a chemical process only become expensive or impossible. As examples of important electrolysis there is the winning of aluminium, chlorine and caustic soda.

E-coat cathodic dip-paint coating

The cathodic dip-paint coating also called „cataphoresis“ is an electrochemical process where the parts are coated by dipping in a tank. It is recommendable for coating of complicated part design or large quantities. The parts to be coated are charged as cathode and the counter electrode (bath) is charged as anode.

E-coat anodic dip-paint coating

The parts to be coated are charged as anode and the counter electrode (bath) is charged as cathode. The principal of electrocoating process is to precipitate (electro coagulation) the water soluble resins at the surface of parts to be coated which are charged as electrode and build in consequence a closed and adhesive coating film.
